A Brothers’ Grimm fairy tale classic!
The king is seeking a wife, but not just any girl will do. She must be the most talented girl in all the land. As the villagers boast about their talented daughters, one father gets carried away and promises that HIS daughter can spin straw into gold! The king is MOST interested and the next thing she knows, poor Bessie is summoned to the castle, put in a room filled with straw and a spinning wheel and instructed to go to work. Problem? Of course! She can’t actually spin that straw into gold! But Rumpelstiltskin can, and the wizened little gnome promises to do so. . . in exchange for her first-born child! Plenty of characters and parts, great music and lots of fun. Don’t miss out on this wonderful show adapted by local playwright Charles Queary and local musician Jef Labes, with the generous support of Marin Arts Council and Ross Valley Community For Schools (RVCS/YES).
